nothing is 100% secure from a true hacker. but Its as safe as it gonna get as long as it was a real major credit card company.

Yes they are. As secure as anything else online. If a hacker wants your info, they’re going to get it. I’d be more concerned with what I throw in my garbage. Once you put your garbage to the curb or in the dumpster, it becomes public property and people can legally dig thru it looking for credit card offers, bank statements etc. They can then use these to become you and totally ruin your credit!

If it has the little gold lock at the bottom of your screen when you are on the site, then it is secure. Otherwise, no, your information could be anywhere by now.

Yes as long as you know the brand you selected and you know that this is really their web site. The process of communicating over the internet with secure encryptyed channels (https:// sites) is much more secure than using the postal service. The risk comes from you being directed to or accidentally using the URL of a site that is not really the bank or other organization that you think it is. There are internal risks for the bank of somebody inside the bank stealing identity information but these are very similar regardless of how the details enter the bank and certainly less than if there had been a physical piece of paper holding the data.
